Empire Pagaille
Founded in Montreal in 2022, Empire Pagaille is a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation and production of physical comedy theatre works for adult audiences, presented nationally and internationally. Empire Pagaille contributes to the vitality, discovery, and reach of Quebec contemporary clowning through its artistic creations, as well as by organizing community-building events and offering training for both professional and emerging artists.
Working within a retro-nostalgic aesthetic, our creations explore the extraordinary within our ordinary, beautifully imperfect lives. With laughter at the heart of our artistic practice, we offer a perspective that is both critical and lighthearted on the society around us. Tightrope walkers of emotion, we prioritize the performer’s presence over physical virtuosity. Embracing the art of risk, we incorporate moments of improvisation with our audiences, fostering a direct connection that makes each performance uniquely singular.
